Sentences in the Preterit tense

Je suis allé à Londres la semaine dernière.
I went to London last week.
  • to London (To : déplacement, direction)
     
  • "last week" = la semaine dernière
    "the last week" (= la dernière semaine)
Les enfants ont mangé un gâteau au chocolat.
The children ate chocolate cake.		  
Paul McCartney a écrit beaucoup de
chansons très célèbres.
Paul McCartney wrote a lot of
very famous songs.
  • "a lot of " ou "lots of " ou "many"
J'ai rangé ma chambre hier.
I tidied my room yesterday.
  • To tidy >> I tidied.
     
  • my room = my bedroom
Nous avons regardé un très bon film dimanche.
We watched a very good film on Sunday.
  • "a movie" = mot américain
    "a film" = mot britannique
     
  • "on Sunday" ou "last Sunday"
