The future : will (6)

Listen to the recording.

Jim: Wow! What an adventure, huh?

Oliver: You bet! I'll never forget it!

Alwena: Me neither, but, er... Jim... What about next year? Will you stay in Deal?

Jim: Oh no, we won't... We'll probably go to some place else in Scotland or in Canada or in Australia,... or in Antarctica... who knows? ... and I'll go to another school... I'll make new friends... again and again and again...

Oliver: Mr Atkins, do you really have to go? ... Why don't you stay in Deal?

Shanti: Please, will you stay in Deal next year, Mrs Atkins?

Alwena: Please, say yes, please stay!

Mr Atkins: Jim, do you really want to stay?

Jim: Oh yes, dad, I'd love to stay here...

Mr Atkins: Well, I quite like it here too, what do you say, Rebecca?

Mrs Atkins: I say..., let's stay in Deal!

Jim: Yippee!! Great! Thanks Mum, thanks Dad...

Mr Atkins: Hum, so... We'll buy a house, with a basketball court, we'll hire a personal coach for Jim…

Mrs Atkins: And we'll need a swimming-pool too, of course... because you know I...

Jim: Did you hear that? We'll have a basketball court and a swimming-pool! You'll all come over to my place and we'll have fun together!

Alwena: Yeah, and one day, you'll be the best basketball player in the world!

Oliver: Yes, but you'll go back to America! You'll play with the NBA... and you'll forget all about us!

Jim: Oh no, I won't! You'll come and visit me! We'll always be friends... you saved my life, remember!

Everyone: Sure... we saved your life!
